Review Of  Nikon D3S MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera

You’re here because you’re looking for a review of the Nikon D3S Digital SLR and I’m here to tell you that you have come to the right place. This is because unlike other sites that review a camera you can’t always be sure if they are giving you and unbiased review, especially if they are trying to sell you the camera as an affiliate.

The best reviews you can possible get are from those people who have actually bought the camera. You can be sure they will tell you how it is because they have an emotional connection with the Nikon DIgital SLR that they have just bought. They have no reason to lie and if they’re disappointed with it in any way they are bound to tell you because of that very same emotional connection.

With that in mind I present to you the Nikon D3S digital SLR as presented by Amazon, one of the most trusted online retail outlet.

Review: Lowepro Slingshot 200 AW Ergonomic Camera Bag

If you were to look through this blog you would find a whole heap of photos of my trip to Sydney. I can safely say that I really enjoyed that trip and taking lots of photos of the beautiful sights that I saw on a daily basis and one of the things that made it so enjoyable was my Lowepro Slingshot 200 All Weather Backpack! How can a simple camera bag improve on a family holiday? Well, to answer that let me tell you how it used to be.

On previous holidays I used to carry the old normal camera bag which apart from carrying all my photo gear it didn’t have much going for it. It was always getting in the way and it was damn cumbersome. Getting the camera out meant stopping, setting the bag down and fishing for it and then picking it up again and slinking over my shoulder just so someone wouldn’t run off with it. It was such a pain I tended not to put the camera in the bag meaning I was now having the bag over my shoulder as well as having to carry the camera. It was such a pain. Not so with the Lowepro Slingshot 200 All Weather Backpack. This is a photo of my favourite camera bag.

Lowepro Slingshot

As you can see my Canon EOS 550D Digital SLR is sitting in there as sub as a bug in a rug. It’s also holding my Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens, my 55m-250mm lens, my Sony DCR-SR300E camcorder as well as my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX50, my Flip UltraHD Video Camera as well as other bits and pieces. It even has a special rain hood to keep my expensive equipment dry when it rains.

The best thing about the Lowepro Slingshot 200 All Weather Backpack is it’s ingenious sling strap which allows me to easily get to my camera, even whilst walking, without fear of any of the other stuff falling out. I can then quickly slide it out of the way allowing me to easily compose and take my photos. I reckon I could go on for ages telling you how good and how it really improves your photo taking experience but perhaps it would be better if you could see a video of how it really works.

I highly recommend the Lowepro Slingshot 200 All Weather Backpack as the camera bag of choice for every photographer, both for its ease of use and for the amount of photo equipment it can carry.

Nikon D90 DSLR With Lens Kit

Naturally when comparing cameras it’s best to compare the ones in the same price group so that you can see how they stack up. Unfortunately this isn’t always possible. When looking at Nikon DSLRs they were either way cheaper or way more expensive.

For example, there’s the Nikon D700 12.1MP Digital SLR Camera with 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G ED IF VR Nikkor Zoom Lens which is a 12.1 MP camera compared with the Canon EOS 7D 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera which I previewed in an earlier post. The Canon not only has 18MP but is priced a few hundred dollars cheaper. As the D700 is more than I am willing to spend I decided to look at one of the cheaper Nikons.

I decided on the Nikon D90 DX 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S VR DX Nikkor Zoom Lens + 8GB Deluxe Accessory Kit which I can get for several hundred dollars cheaper and includes several accessories. Like it’s more expensive brother it also offers around the 12MP

Canon EOS 7D 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera

As I’ve mentioned in several posts I’ve been using a simple point and shoot camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX50, and although it takes stunning shots it can’t compete with the the Digital SLR cameras. I have therefore decided to see what DSLR cameras are on the market because as soon as I find the right one I’m going to buy it, and once I do I hope to post some really stunning photos.

The first one I’m looking at which is in the higher range price category is the Canon EOS 7D 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 3-inch LCD and 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens

Product Features :

  • 18.0-megapixel CMOS Sensor and Dual DIGIC 4 Image Processors for high image quality and speed
  • Kit includes 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM standard zoom lens
  • Advanced HD movie mode with manual exposure control and selectable frame rates
  • Intelligent Viewfinder with 100 percent field of view; 19-point, all cross-type AF system equipped with dual diagonal cross-type sensors
  • Capture images to CF Card Type I and II, UDMA-compliant CF cards (not included)

One of the features I like about this camera is that it can take photo at 8fps which I assume means there is very little shutter lag, something I dislike about many of the digital cameras that I’ve used.

Even though it is able to shoot full HD video this doesn’t interest me as I have a great Sony camcorder that I use for that. I suppose though it may come in handy as I don’t always have my camcorder on me.

Another feature that I like is Canon’s new built-in Dual Axis Electronic Level which shows both horizontal roll and vertical pitch making it really easy to get nice level shots while shooting. I hate taking photos only to find out when seeing it on the computer that it’s not quite level.

The 3inch LCD display is also a bonus as you’ll get a clearer picture of how you’re framing the shot. Also although the camera is capable in taking photos in very low light conditions the built is flash is sure to come in handy. All in all this looks like a really good camera.
