The Bird Of Paradise

Lighting and background are both very important in the composition of any photo. I’ve done a series of shots of one of the most beautiful and colorful flowers in the world. The plant is called the Bird of Paradise and derives the name from the flower shape which resembles a birds beak and head plumage, hence the name.
The first is a shot of the flower with the sky as a background.

The next has a cloudy sky as a background.

And finally one with the garden as the background.

Out of the three the last one is definitely, in my opinion too crowded and detracts from the flower itself. The same goes for the second one, which is unusual as clouds normally add to the character of the photo, so as far as I am concerned the best of the three would have to be the first photo.
